VCF Media Radio paid homage to José Vicente Cuxart in an extensive tribute on Wednesday, remembering the former player for the club who was a mainstay at the VCF Academy post-retirement.
Former colleagues and teammates all spoke to provide their memories, whilst Cuxart's son, Sergi, called in to give an update on how the family are coping with the loss.
"These are tough times that we are going through, with my mother, my brother and I at home, because amidst this situation you can't be surrounded by family and friends," he explained.
"Since the day following the news, we have received thousands upon thousands of messages of support. We feel very proud of the recognition my father has received, and the mark that he made on the kids at the VCF Academy and those who were with him over the years. We are full of pride to see how well he did everything, entering into the hearts of so many people."
Figures from the club, such as Miguel Ángel Bossio, Vicente Palonés, José Jiménez, Sergio Ventosa, Iván Muñoz, Joseda Menargues and Carles Aliberch, who occupy various roles from VCF school director to members of the current Juvenil A side, all had messages of affection for Cuxart.
